Project Title
Going Viral: Strings Attached is a documentary I created for Kensey Davis of Atomic Crochet.
Objective
I created a documentary-style multicamera interview, inspired by Netflix documentaries, which explores going viral on social media.
Synoposis
This work is similar to “The Quilters” and other documentaries on Netflix.
Process
I set up the interview in the creators' crafting space. We were crunched for time, so instead of filming during the day and battling the sun in her sunroom, we shot this after sundown with a 500-watt and a 200-watt light. I used a 35mm on my Lumix S5 on a stationary tripod and put my S5iix with an 85mm lens on a camera slider to get some movement.
Results
The client was very happy with the visuals that were accomplished with the gear that I had, proving that you don’t need high-end cinema gear when you understand lighting and composition. See It Here.
